Mishra was one of many but not any unique one to enjoy such limelight on parochial considerations

In today’s political administration, there must be many factors those stand behind the cases of elevation in the position of bureaucrats and specially cases of choose and pick ones,

In a national English daily of Bhubaneswar edition there was a top spread display of a news jacking up the image of an Odia IAS officer, of Gujrat cadre who has been appointed at the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

That is P.K Mishra, of Gujrat cadre who has been by whatever ability at his command has ascended to a good height that is undisputable. But, looking back the annals one hardly is reminded of any such appointment to the post of principal secretary to the PM that deserves a parochial silver line mention.

Mishra had been with the then chief minister of Gujrat, Narendra  Modi enjoying coveted positions and in such cases loyalty and chemistry are some not ignorable factors those come into play  regardless of the state the officer he or she belongs to. The position matters and not the state.

Mishra is already 70 and now holds a position that could have gone to any had such a person had the goodwill account at the PMO. What is bit puzzling is the limelight it has been tagged to and that too in a newspaper of national repute so far has managed to sidestep any tagging with dispensations.

It is a news for people of area to which Mishra belongs but getting him on a citadel of extraordinary excellence for a semi-political appointment at the front page top, by virtue of loyalty is something hard to digest.
