Naveen claims all promises made to people of Odisha in 2014 fulfilled

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today claimed that all the promises
he made to the people of Odisha in 2014 elections have been fulfilled during the last five years
by his government.
Mr Patnaik who chaired the council of Ministers meeting which was telecast live for the first
time, placed the report card before the council on the achievements made during the last five
years.
Describing the 4.5 crore people of the state as his family, Mr.Patnaik said he has been
serving them with the blessings of the Lord Jagannth and remarked “ your blessings is my
strength”
He said the first council of ministers meeting held on May 21,2014, the election manifestos
were taken as the policy of the government and since then every year on May 21, he has
been reviewing the promises made to the people of the state.
The chief minister thanked the Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, Misison shakti members, panchayat representatives, government servants and the minsters for extending their support
to fulfill the promises.
Mr.Patnaik said he had promised additional irrigation facilities of ten lakh hectares.Till now
nine lakh hectares had been covered under irrigation and the rest one lakh hectare will be
covered by May 2019, he added.
He said from 2015 the farmers were provided crop loan with one per cent interest but now
with the implementation of Kalia schems they are being provided with zero per cent interest.
The chief minister said in 2014 he had promised to make all kaccha houses to pucca houses
and claimed that so far 20lakh kaccha houses had been converted into pucca houses by his government.
Under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BKSY) all the BPl and APL families were covered
with annual health benefit of Rs. Five lakh per family and Rs.7lakh for the female member of
the family.
The government, he said had provided free medical treatment and free medicines to all
right from the primary health centres to district hospitals and all the government medical
colleges in the state.
Mr Patnaik further said the government has provided loan to the six lakh SHG with zero
per cent interest,created 30 lakh employment opportunities by organizing two Make in
Odisha conclave in last five years.
In a bid to provide quality education , the government, he said had established 190 Model
schools adding that all 314 blocks in the state will be covered soon.
The chief minister said the state government has also launched its own food security
scheme and providing rice at Rs.1 per kg to the beneficiaries left out under the National
Food Security Act (NFSA). (UNI)
