National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) will organize an online seminar on early identification, intervention, management and rehabilitation options for children suffering from ‘Global Developmental Delay’, on January 19.
‘Global Developmental Delay’ refers to delay on the part of a child to reach certain milestones compared to other children of the same age. This might involve learning to walk or talk, movement skills, learning new things and interacting with others socially and emotionally.
The Interactive Disability Awareness Seminar (NIDAS) on “Global Developmental Delay: What more to be done?” is being organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Justice, Government of Kerala.
The two-and-a-half hour webinar, led by Ms Aswathi A.K, Speech Language Pathologist, Department of NeuroDevelopmental Science, NISH, aims at creating awareness on the causes, importance of early identification and intervention and the management and rehabilitation options for the children suffering from “Global Developmental Delay.”
The proceedings of the webinar, to be conducted in Malayalam, will be streamed live for the registered participants from the NISH campus at Akkulam here from 1030 hrs on Saturday.
