Odisha government has decided to set up three more cyber police stations in the state to deal with the rising incidents of cyber crimes in the state.
Odisha Director General of Police R P Sharma said the new cyber police stations would be set up in Bhubaneswar, Jeypore and Balasore. At present, four cyber police stations are functioning in Cuttack, Rourkela, Berhampur and Sambalpur.
Addressing a three-day training programme of the cyber investigating officers in Bhubaneswar today, Dr Sharma said the decision to set up three more cyber police station was taken following a sharp rise in the number of cyber crimes in the state.
The number of cyber crimes has increased from 120 in 2013 to 868 in 2018.
