Bhubaneswar: Four new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Bhadrak district on Friday as the total number of positive cases increased to 94 in Odisha, Information and Public Relations Department said.
In a tweet, the department informed that two each from Tihidi and Dhamnagar Blocks have tested COVID-19 positive.
The four are a 40-year-old man, a 29-year-old man, a 41-year-old-man and a 24-year-old man.
All are West Bengal returnees. Contact tracing and follow-up action is being done, the department said.
With this, the total number of positive cases increased to 16 in Bhadrak.
Of the state’s 94 COVID-19 cases, 60 are active as 33 persons have recovered from the disease. A 72-year-old man from Bhubaneswar died due to the infection on April 6.
The Odisha government has imposed a 60-hour total shutdown in the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore. The shutdown began at 10 pm Thursday night and will continue till Sunday 10 am.
