Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the team of the movie Coolie no. 1 for their initiative towards plastic-free country. Mr Modi expressed joy over the move by the film world contributing towards freeing the country from single- use plastic.
The Prime Minister in a tweet on Thursday said,’ Superb gesture by the team of #CoolieNo1! Happy to see the film world contributing towards freeing India from single use plastic.’ Coolie No 1 actor actor Varun Dhawan had earlier tweeted that being plastic-free nation was the need of the hour and further upheld the initiative by PM Modi. He said that everyone can contribute towards the initiative by small changes and added that on the sets of the movie, only steel bottles will be used.
‘Being a plastic-free nation is the need of the hour and great initiative taken by our prime minister and we can all do this by making small changes. The sets of #CoolieNo1 will now only use steel bottles’, Dhawan tweeted. Mr Modi on Wednesday also congratulated Fever FM for their innovative campaign for reduced use of single use plastic. He also urged the shopkeepers to be a part of the campaign. ‘I congratulate Fever FM for their innovative campaign to ensure reduced usage of single use plastic. I urge shopkeepers to take part in this campaign with vigour. Such efforts will add valuable momentum to the Swachh Bharat Mission!’, the PM posted on twitter. (UNI)
