Jammu and Kashmir former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interviews to news channels seem like a well planned Public Relations (PR) exercises.

Ms Mufti dared Mr Modi to give interview to journalists who don’t go for ‘scripted’ PR exercises.

Taking to micro-blogging site tweeter, president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba said, “For obvious reasons, news channels are suddenly being obliged with interviews of the PM. Most seem like well planned PR exercises. The real baptism by fire would be giving one to NDTV or an online portal like The Wire”.

In another tweet she questioned, “Why don’t these anchors ask PM real questions? Like why was an IAS officer suspended for checking his chopper?”

Reacting to a report tweet which reads “ PM @narendramodi attacks Mehbooba Mufti, says those backing Section 370 don’t deserve Indian citizenship, she said, “BJP’s performance in the phases held until now has been pathetic. Gathbandan’s doing very well. Therefore neither will BJP be reelected nor will they scrap Article 370.”

Mr Modi on Friday during an election rally said that the coalition between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was a ‘Mahamilawat’ (mixture) of oil and water’. The coalition collapsed after BJP withdrew support in June last year after about three years of joint rule in the state.
