Polling for the first phase of the General election in many parts of Odisha is inching near to the final leg of the voting. According to the Chief Electoral Officer, till the last information available there has been 66% polling in 4 Lok Sabha and 28 assembly segments that went to the polls. Polling was conducted in about 7,400 above polling booths across those parts of the state. Even, in areas, viewed to be Maoist infested the polling was peaceful, according to the DGP in-charge R.K.Sharma.
