Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address 7 election rallies in Karnataka where the general elections to the Lok Sabha is scheduled to be held in two phases–April 18 and 23.
To begin with, Modi will address two rallies on April 9 in Chitradurga, in central parts of the State and later in the evening in Mysuru City which comes under Mysuru-Kodagu segment.
Later, before the second and final phase of polling to be held on April 23, Modi will address five more rallies to woo the voters. He would address rallies in Koppal, Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Bagalkot, and Chikkodi, BJP party sources said.
The first phase polling will be held in 14 segments in Karnataka on April 18, while in the other 14 seats polling will be held on April 23.
So far Mr Modi had addressed two rallies in Karnataka, launching the election campaign in Hubballi last month even before the election dates were announced. Earlier he had held his first public rally in Kalaburgi during February.
The State unit of the BJP had asked for Modi to campaign in more than 10 Districts. Modi has already addressed two rallies in Hubballi-Dharwad and Kalaburagi in February and March, respectively. “The venues of the rallies have been chosen to cover the entire State, divided into clusters of three or four districts,” said R. Ashok, in-charge of Modi rallies in the State.
BJP has also lined up star campaigners including its National President Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, besides others that include Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who represents the State in Rajya Sabha, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Suresh Prabhu and Smriti Irani in a span of 13 days left for two phase Polling in the State.
