Radicals vandalise Hong Kong MTR stations, throw petrol bombs

Radical protesters vandalized Mass Transit Railway (MTR) stations and threw petrol bombs at police officers Sunday afternoon in Hong Kong.

Destructive acts were committed extensively in Admiralty and Wan Chai in Hong Kong Island, with facilities in Wan Chai MTR Station damaged and fires set on Admiralty Road near Admiralty MTR Station. Radicals also hurled petrol bombs at police officers.
Hong Kong police said the violent acts posed “a serious threat to the safety of everyone at scene,” and advised the public to avoid travelling to the areas concerned.

After repeated warnings to the radicals went futile, the police have deployed tear gas and used appropriate force to disperse them.
