Replblican Party of India (RPI) leader, Ramdas Athawale said on Monday that AICC president Rahul Gandhi was day dreaming of becoming prime minister and it will remain a dream.
Speaking to newsmen here the union minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said, “With prime minister Narendra Modi well poised to lead the NDA to the seat of power at the Center and continue to be the prime minister, Rahul Gandhi’s efforts to unseat Modi will remain a pipe dream”.
Stating that the NDA government at the Center, had taken several historical decisions that helped the country to emerge stronger at the Global level, he refuted the opposition party charges that “Modi government had adopted an anti-Dalit stance”.
“Thanks to the several initiatives taken by the NDA government, the conditions of the Dalits in the country has improved” he said.
He also allayed fears on reports that BJP is in favor of replacing the Indian constitution, provided by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and said that “Modi himself had clarified on the issue, on several occasions”.
Asserting that the country needs the leadership like Narendra Modi had provided, for at least another ten years, the RPI leader said that “the only agenda of the Mahaghatabandan leaders was that of opposing Prime Minister Modi”.
“The Opposition leaders have no policies, programmes or ideologies except criticising Modi” he said.
Referring to the tough decision of the Prime Minister Modi, for having directed to smash terrorists dens inside the Pakistan recently, he ridiculed the Opposition Congress leaders, for demanding proof.
“Congress leaders should have accompanied our brave soldiers, during the surgical strike on Pakistan and would have vouched themselves about the destruction inflicted by the our forces” he chided.
Maintaining that the JD(S) leaders in Karnataka, who have gone with the Congress to form the coalition government, should have joined the BJP, he said, “It is still not too late to the Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to amend his decision and come back to the BJP”.
Strongly defending the Union government’s decision to extend 10 per cent reservation to poorer sections of forward communities in jobs and education, the RPI leader also favored for extending the reservation in the private private sector.
“If NDA government comes back to the power after the elections, the issue will be raised” he added.
He also informed that in Karnataka, his party is supporting the BJP in 24 Lok Sabha seats, where RPI has not fielded its candidates.
“Our party candidates are contesting in Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, Chikkodi and Belagavi Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka” he said.
