Rahul Gandhi to unveil outline of Con manifesto tomorrow

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy on Sunday informed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi would unveil the outline and broader view of Congress party’s manifesto for Lok Sabha elections in his meeting at Zaheerabad on Monday.

In a statement, Gudur said AICC President would speak on upon various concerning common man, especially youth, at Zaheerabad meeting which is expected to witness a huge turnout.

“Rahul has already unveiled a few major schemes like ‘Nyay’ (Nyuntam Aay Yojna) which aims to provide Rs. 72,000 annually to poorest of poor families across the country, he said this will benefit more than 50 lakh poor people in Telangana.

He also announced Congress party’s plans to boost economy through creation of lakhs of jobs for rural youth. Rahul is expected to unveil a roadmap for transformation of agriculture sector by helping the farmers in the right manner,” he said.

The Congress leader said that the party’s manifesto would not just be a vision document, but a strategic plan to address all core issues.

“Rahul does not believe in making fake and tall promises. Whatever he says, he ensures that it gets implemented,” he said adding that the Congress party has a great track record of fulfilling all electoral promises.

“When UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi promised statehood for Telangana, she ensured that a new State is carved out of Andhra Pradesh despite the fact that the Congress party suffered huge political setback,” he said.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao have openly cheated the people with fake promises and they still intend to continue with their cheating spree in Lok Sabha elections. The Congress leader said that the party cadre was fully rejuvenated and it would ensure party’s victory on majority of seats in Telangana State.

Meanwhile, Gudur strongly condemned ex-MLC Ponguleti Sudhakhar Reddy’s criticism on the Congress party and its leadership in his resignation letter released to the media on Sunday.

“Sudhakar Reddy was given several opportunities by the Congress party although he could never win an election in his lifetime. He had served as an MLC till March 29.

However, just two days after the expiry of his term, he resigned from the party while levelling baseless allegations against the leadership. This shows his opportunistic approach and greed for power, he pointed out.

He is apparently trying to please KCR by criticising the Congress party during the peak of election campaign. His statement holds no value as everyone knows that he is trying to gain something from TRS by attacking the same Congress party which nurtured him for over three decades,” he said.

He said that the exit of some selfish and opportunist leaders would not harm the Congress party.

Several attempts have been made by TRS and other parties in the past to damage the Congress party through defections, he said.

Unlike TRS or BJP, Congress is a party based on strong ideologies and people get associated with it not for the post or power, but to serve people. Therefore, Sudhakar Reddy’s resignation and exit from the party would not have any impact in Khammam or anywhere else,” he added.
