Jaipur: Giving a major relief to students appearing for the JEE and NEET exams, the Rajasthan government has announced free transportation for students to reach their scheduled examination centres.
As the JEE exams have started on Tuesday, Principal Secretary Abhay Kumar said, “Lockdown norms shall not be considered for the JEE-NEET applicants as well as their parents and guardians. Admit card, hard and soft copy, shall be considered as a valid document during this phase.”
The JEE exams will be held in nine districts of the state till September 7, including Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar and Shri Ganganagar.
Similarly, the NEET exams will be held from September 12 to 14 in six cities, including Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur.
During the scheduled days of NEET and JEE Main examination, hotels, restaurants and dharamshalas will remain open for the candidates and their parents.
However, the candidates, their guardians and restaurants will have to follow standard operating procedures (SOP) guidelines issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Abhay Kumar said the organisers of the examination have been instructed to ensure all safety protocols related to Covid-19 are followed in the exam centres. Instructions have been given to them to maintain social distancing, ensure that everyone wears masks, no one spits in public places and frequent hand washing is being done. The district administration has been directed to ensure all safety protocols related to Covid-19 outside the examination centres in this regard.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, special care is being taken for transportation of the NEET and JEE Main Exam candidates. In this regard, Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTCL) is providing free transportation facility to the candidates of NEET and JEE Main Examination by showing the admit card.
In other cities of the state, the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) will provide free transportation facility to the candidates on showing the admit card.
