Supreme Court on Friday refused to lift the stay on release of the biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, until May 19.
A bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, refused to lift the stay on the release of the biopic on Mr Modi.
“We are not inclined to interfere at this stage,” the bench of the Top Court said.
The Apex Court also refused to modify the EC order and said, “We are also not modifying anything on EC order at this stage.”
The biopic on Mr Modi stars actor Vivek Oberoi and other Bollywood stars.
The Top Court refused to change the Election Commission (EC) order, which stayed the release of the biopic on Mr Modi on grounds that the film may influence voters if released at this time keeping in view the fact that elections are going on at this time across the country. (UNI)
