The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday recovered by 157.99 points at 38,290.87 as buying was seen across the baord.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 60.60 points to 11,505.65.
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 38,379.80 and 38,148.44 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,521.25 and 11,452.45 points respectively.
The sectoral indices inlcude Bankex, Realty, Utilities, Industrials kept the market up in opening trade.
The gainers were HCL Tech was up by 2.77 pc to Rs 1071.10, Yes Bank by 1.68 pc to Rs 272.45, Infosys by 1.57 pc to Rs 740.50 and Sun Pharma by 1.50 pc to Rs 471.15.
The losers were ONGC by 2.40 pc to Rs 156.40, Bajaj Auto by 1.24 pc to Rs 2949.55, Powergrid by 1.22 pc to Rs 197.85 and IndusInd Bank by 0.74 pc to Rs 1792.40. (UNI)
