Six killed in ambush on army patrol in northern Burkina Faso

 At least six people were killed as unknown gunmen ambushed armed forces patrol Thursday in northern Burkina Faso’s Soum province, security source said here in Ouagadougou. According to the source, the ambush claimed the lives of five among the attackers and one among Burkina armed forces.

Since 2015, Burkina Faso has been facing a series of terrorist attacks that caused over 500 deaths and 280,000 displaced people. On August 19, 24 armed forces were killed in an attack on army detachment in Koutougou, Soum.
