Solar power used to run metro for the first time in Delhi

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday started receiving 27 megawatts (MW) solar power from Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa Mega Solar Power plant. For the first time, solar power was used for operating trains on the Delhi Metro. Till now, solar power was utilised for auxiliary requirements such as lighting and air conditioning of stations. (UNI)
