Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of seeking votes in the name of martyred jawans.
While addressing a public rally organised late last night in the city to campaign against the BJP led government in the state and at the centre, Thackeray said, “Today Modi asks first time voters to vote for the jawans who conducted the Balakot air strike and the jawans killed in the Pulwama attack. Does he not feel ashamed to ask for vote in the name of jawans?”
Referring the Pulwama terror attack and stating that it is the duty of the prime minister to protect the country Thackeray said, “When Modi was in opposition party during the Congress regime he (Modi) asked that it was the duty of the central government to protect the boundaries of the nation. So now, where the RDX had come from?”
The dais was shared by the former MLAs Bala nandgaonkar, Nitin Sardesai and Jaiprakash Baviskar, MNS district chief Monty Singh Jagirdar and others..
“Narendra Modi is building a war like situation in the country. Modi did not inform the number of soldiers of the enemy country killed in Balakot airstrike and the air chief marshal had no information about the incidence but Amit Shah said that 250 persons were killed. Where did Amit Shah get the information from?” the MNS Chief questioned.
Mentioning Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s comment where he (Yogi) termed the Indian Army as ‘Modi Ji Ki Sena’, Thackeray alleged that PM Modi calls the relatives of the martyred soldiers who ask for evidence of the strike as ‘traitors’.
“When the people in 2014 gave power to the BJP and made Modi as Prime minister, what has he done for the development of the nation”, MNS supremo asked.
Thackeray also accused Modi of forcing the small merchants into hardship with the decisions like GST, demonetisation of currency notes and others adding that Modi never speaks of the rising unemployment, security of the women and farm distress which has led to a surge in farmers suicides. (UNI)
