Tipu Sultan: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has launched Vikram Sampath’s book Tipu Sultan: The Saga of the Mysore Interregnum in New Delhi.
Speaking at the event on Saturday, Dr. Jaishankar praised the book for capturing the complexities of a tumultuous era and offering valuable insights into politics, strategy, administration, sociology, and diplomacy. He noted that Tipu Sultan is renowned for resisting British colonial expansion in India and emphasized that his defeat and death marked a turning point in the history of Peninsular India.
