West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress legislator Arjun Singh from Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas, is likely to join the BJP in New Delhi later today.
Sources close to Arjun Singh said today that the MLA was already in the home of BJP leader Mukul Roy in New Delhi and his formal joining into the saffron brigade is expected shortly.
Mr Singh, an well known organiser, particularly in the Hindi belt of industrial belt of Barrackpore wanted to be a parliamentary candidate for Barrackpore seat. But AITC supremo Mamata Banerjee chose veteran Dinesh Tritvedy for the second time from this seat.
Ms Banerjee, before announcing the party candidates from Kalighat on Tuesday, had called both Singh and Trivedy at Nabanna on Monday and had settled the disputes and asked Arjun Singh to ensure win of Trivedy.
Singh had even done booth management for the TMC on the ground level from panchayat polls to Parliamentary elections
But the bargain here is to join the BJP to have him the party nominee from Barrackpore.
