A local court of Belonia in South Tripura has sentenced a youth to three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for willfully displaying nude pictures of a women whom he had duped.
In an order, district and sessions judge of South Tripura Udit Chowdhury sentenced the culprit identified as Chandan Das (35), a resident of Charakbai area under Baikhora police station of Belonia on Wednesday.
According to report, in January last year the accused Chandan Das had duped a woman of the Charakbai area pretending to love and promising to marry her. Chandan
took the woman to a guest house in the town and had carnal interaction with her while secretly video graphing her nude and indecent pictures.
Later, the accused Das had displayed these pictures on posters and brought them to public notice. When this drew attention of people the victim women filed a FIR with
Belonia woman police station.
During trail of the case witnesses of as many as 12 persons detailed the evidence after which the district and sessions judge sentenced Das to three years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 354 (c) of IPC and one more year of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1000 under Section 292 of IPC. Both the sentences will run simultaneously. (UNI)
