Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik today created a sand sculpture of 20 feet long sandy Bina at Puri beach in Odisha on the birthday of eminent play back singer Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Sudarsan has used about 7 tons of sand to create the 5ft high and 20ft long Bina with the message ” Happy Birthday Lata Didi”.
“I created this sand sculpture on her 90th birthday to wish Lata Didi known as the nightingale of India.”Lata Mangeshkar is one of the best known and most respected playback singers in India,” said Sudarsan. He said, “I pray Lord jagannath for her long life and good health.” So far, Padma awardee sand artist Sudarsan has participated in more than 60 International sand sculpture championships and festivals around the world and won many prizes for the country.
