At least two people were killed and three others sustained splinter and burn wounds when some unidentified miscreants charged crude bombs on them at Jagaddal in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, police investigating the crime said on Tuesday.
While a person was killed immediately after being charged with crude bombs, another person succumbed to his wounds early today at JMM Hospital in Kalyani, Nadia.
Police said three unidentified miscreants entered Baruipara under Jagaddal last night and charged several bombs, in which two people were killed and three sustained burn and splinter wounds. One of them wounded was in a critical state.
Police was investigating the crime at the area, which has been boiling since May 19, the last phase of Lok Sabha poll when Bhatpara assembly also went to by-poll.
The area had earlier seen two killings and over 100 people were rendered homeless because of rivalry between the TMC and BJP to lord over the area.
Despite Section 144, Cr Pc is on the force, the area has again witnessed bloody violence.
