Two women trackers rescued by IAF from Dhandrash-Thach area

Indian Air force Helicopter on Friday evacuated two women trackers from Dhandrash-Thach area near Jakha Gram Panchayat of Dodra Kawar subdivision of this district on Friday morning, a Spokesman for Indian Army said.
In an emergency rescue of IAF, an injured woman tracker identified as   Sudha Bhatacharyajee (wife of an Armed officer) and another woman tracker  Supriya, a hypothermia patient, were evacuated to Annadale
helipad from the spot at 0655 hrs this morning, SDM Dodra Kawar Rati Ram told UNI.
A local Indian Army spokesman  Parveen also confirmed that trackers were evacuated safely and hospitalised at MH Jatoag belonged to Kolkata and currently residing at Delhi.
He said that during tracking expedition, ten people– including the two rescued– left from Dhawala area of Uttarakhand two days ago but Ms Bhatacharyajee suffered knee injuries near Dandrash-Thach area
near lower waterfall around 1200 hrs on Thursday.
Her co-trackers, with help of a satellite phone, immediately sought assistance from the district Administration Shimla and Indian Army to evacuate the injured woman.
The SDM said that the injured woman required immediate evacuation from the spot while another tracker Dr Supirya who is suffering from Hypothermia also need immediate hospitalisation.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Principal Secretary to CM, Shrikhant Baladi immediately requisitioned the IAF chopper to evacuate the trackers.
On the request of state administration a IAF helicopter tried to land at emergency helipad near the spot but due to thick smog and cloud, the two could not airlifted yesterday till 1700 hrs.
The IAF helicopter again at 0600 hrs today succeeded in airlifting the two who were brought to Annadale Helipad at Shimla from where they were rushed to Army Ambulance to Military Hospital Jatoag and two were recovering in the hospital, Army spokesman said.
The remaining eight trackers left for Sangla valley of Kinnuar district after covering Rupin passes from about five milometer walking distance from Jakha Panchayat of Dodra-Kawar reported safe, the SDM added.
