A Delhi Special Court on Friday took cognisance of a charge sheet filed by the CBI in the Unnao gangrape case and put up the matter for further hearing on October 15.
The national agency filed a charge sheet in Unnao gangrape case by submitting that the Unnao rape survivor was allegedly kidnapped and raped for nine days at different places by three persons in 2017.
CBI filed a charge sheet before a Special Court by contending that Naresh Tiwari, Brijesh Yadav and Shubham Singh are accused for the offences under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 363 (kidnapping), 366 (abducting or inducing woman to compel her for marriage), 376 D (sexual assault by more than one person) defined under the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 (penetrative sexual assault and punishment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
It was submitted that the statement of Unnao rape survivor was recorded before a Judicial Magistrate in Unnao.
It was alleged that on June 11, 2017, she had come out of her house to fetch water at night, when Singh and Tiwari, along with three others pulled her inside a car and Singh and Tiwari allegedly raped her in the car.
It was further submitted that the survivor was taken to a house on way to Kanpur, where two unknown persons, with muffled faces, allegedly raped her. She was taken to the house of Yadav, where he allegedly raped her. The investigating agency has named 103 witnesses, to be examined in the case.
District Judge Dharmesh Sharma, on Friday after hearing the matter through in-camera proceedings, took cognisance of CBI charge sheet and adjourned the matter for further hearing, on October 15. (UNI)
