Bihar and Uttar Pradesh reeled under floods due to torrential rains since the past few days.
Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Tuesday reviewed the flood situation in Bihar and directed the central agencies to provide all possible assistance. Till Monday, a total of 145 fatalities were reported in rain-related accidents, with 111 deaths in UP.
Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by rain during the next 24 hours. The IMD classified this year’s monsoon’s under “above normal” category. (UNI)
