UP head constable’s son tweets about father’s harassment by SHO

Amethi, Dec 30 : In an unexpected turn of events, a young man here has lodged a complaint against a station house officer in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi for allegedly harassing his father, who is a head constable.

Senior officials have ordered a probe against the accused cop.

According to reports, Vijay Bhan Singh, a head constable posted at Bazaar Shukul police station, reached his house in Ambedkarnagar on Thursday and broke down before his children. He told them how his senior was subjecting him to ill-treatment.

Singh’s son Aditya Pratap decided not to allow harassment of his father and posted two tweets tagging Uttar Pradesh Police and Inspector General of Police (Ayodhya range).

He complained about the ill-treatment being meted to his father. In his first tweet, Aditya Pratap said his father broke down when he reached home. Demanding action against the inspector, he said that if his father was at fault he should be punished as per the department’s procedures.

In the second tweet, tagging Inspector General of Police (Ayodhya range), Aditya Pratap sarcastically stated: “The behaviour of Inspector .. is ‘so good’ that my father, posted in your range, started crying when he reached home on leave.”

Aditya Pratap did not name the inspector in both the tweets.

However, Inspector general of police, (Ayodhya range) Sanjeev Gupta said that a probe had been ordered into the matter by a deputy Superintendent of Police rank office.
