Nagpur, Nov 19 (UNI) RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday asserted that there is a need to create people through excellence as it is more important than marks secured in exams. Dr Bhagwat was addressing the International Principals’ Education Symposium 2019 here.
“Currently, marks have become more important due to competitive era. However, giving predominance to marks, is not education. We need to create people through excellence,” he remarked. He also said classroom education is not everything though it has its importance.
In a veiled reference to the recent BJP-Shiv Sena fallout over differences on government formation in Maharashtra, he told, “Everyone knows that both of them will face loss if they are going to fight over a matter.” “Everybody knows that selfishness is a bad thing but very few people give up their selfishness. Take the example of the country or of individuals,” he mentioned.
