Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Saturday urged the people to follow the ideology of peace and harmony of Lord Buddha which the country strongly needs.
In a tweet, the BSP president wished the people on the occasion of the Buddha Purnima and said that the country would disintegrate the day people digress from the path shown by Lord Buddha of peace, compassion, non-violence and harmony.
Without naming anybody, she asked the politicians to follow the path shown by Buddha rather than talking loud on his messages.
“Lord Buddha had shown the entire world about his peace and non-violence messages for the mankind, which is certainly required in the present circumstances,” she said.
She hit out at the BJP in another tweet and wondered whether Varanasi, this time, repeat the history similar to the Rae Bareli-like situation in 1977.
“Gorakhpur had already rejected the CM once, will PM Narendra Modi meet the same fate and it could create another history if Varanasi goes like Rae Bareli of 1977′,” she tweeted.
She further hit out at PM Modi for failing to keep his promise on developing Poorvanchal and end its poverty, unemployment and backwardness through his Gujarat model. “The double engine government of Modi and Yogi instead of development had triggered communal and caste frenzy, violence and hatred in the country, which is unfortunate,” she alleged.
