New Delhi, Dec 5 The Supreme Court on Thursday said it is likely to hear next week a petition filed by activist M S Bindu, popularly known as Bindu Ammini, seeking a direction to enter the Sabarimala temple in Kerala.
Senior counsel Indira Jaising mentioned the matter before the apex court today. “This concerns the entry of Bindu to Sabarimala temple being obstructed by police ,” Jaising submitted and sought an urgent hearing into the sensitive issue.
Plaintiff alleged that she was attacked with a chemical substance outside the Police Commissioner’s office. She was not given assistance for her entry, Jaising submitted.
“We will hear it next week along with the other petition pending before the apex court,” ruled the bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Sharad Arvind Bobde.
The CJI said, there is much larger bench (to hear the matter). There is no final word yet. List it next week with another plea. Jaising pleaded,”I want my matter to be listed. Very soon temple is going to be closed. Order can’t be flouted.”
