16th Finance Commission in Odisha: The 16th Finance Commission, who is on a four-day visit to Odisha, has reached Bhubaneswar today. The Commission Chairman and members visited the Odisha State Tribal Museum and Kalinga Stadium in the afternoon.
During their visit to the Odisha State Tribal Museum, they saw tribal ornaments, leg ornaments, bracelets, waist cords, etc. at the special abhushan centre. They were impressed by tribal handlooms, furniture, dokra crafts and various paintings. They watched a documentary on the culture, traditions and lifestyle of the tribals in the auditorium. They expressed happiness by seeing the world of the tribal community, the tribal housing complex. They also appreciated the efforts of the state government to protect and preserve the tribals, their traditions, art and artefacts.
Later, he visited the Kalinga Stadium. During this visit, he visited the Sports Science Center, Biomechanics Lab, Gait Lab, Spin Studio, Para Athlete Performance Center, Tennis Center, Athletics Center, Hockey Stadium, Gymnastics Center, Aquatic Center, Gopichand Badminton High Performance Center.
During this visit, Finance Commission Chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya,Shri Ajay Narayan Jha, Mrs. Annie George Mathew, Dr. Manoj Panda, Economic Advisor Dr. Prashant Kumar Panda, Joint Director Priya Sarraf, Deputy Directors Manshi Gupta and Shikha Singh, Principal Secretary, Finance Department Shashwat Mishra, Principal Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, Liaison Officers were prominently present. Tomorrow, the Finance Commission will visit Dhauli Gram Panchayat, Konark, Puri.
