Global Business Environment: The International Management Institute (IMI) Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with EGADE Business School Mexico, hosted the 9th International Conference on “Global Business Environment” on December 15-16, 2023.

The theme of the conference was “Corporate Democracy, Open Innovation and Growth in Developing Economies”. Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director, IMI, Bhubaneswar; Prof. Rajagopal, Professor and National Researcher, EGADE Business School, Mexico; Prof. Ranjit Roy Ghatak, Associate Professor, IMI, Bhubaneswar; and Prof. Sourabh Sharma, Professor, IMI, Bhubaneswar welcomed the delegates.

Prof. Ramesh Behl set the tone for the conference and announced that the conference received an overwhelming response, with more than 120 submissions and over 200 delegates from India and around the world. Prof. Behl stated that IMI Bhubaneswar has created a research ecosystem by organizing International Conferences, Faculty Development Programs, Monthly Research Seminars and Workshops. Further, he also elaborated that this conference provides a unique platform for everyone to discuss and share insight to shape the future of our economy.

Prof. Rajagopal shed light on the conference theme and shared his thoughts on reverse innovation which can provide opportunities in emerging economies like India. The inauguration ceremony also released the SCOPUS indexed conference anthology of 8th GBE conference comprising of selected peer-reviewed papers entitled “Paradigm Shift in Business – Critical Appraisal of Agile Management Practices” published by Palgrave Macmillan, NY, USA.

Faculty, research scholars, and students from a variety of well-known institutes and universities attended the event, including EGADE Business School, Mexico; IIM Kolkata; IIM Kashipur; IMI New Delhi; XIM University, Bhubaneswar; NMIMS Hyderabad; KIIT University; NIT Durgapur; NIT Rourkela; SIBM Pune; Goa Institute of Management; North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong GD Goenka University, IIIT Vadodara; Presidency University, Kolkata; BITS Pilani and more to name a few.

Over the course of two days, eight technical sessions on diverse subjects were organized. Two workshops led by international experts were also organized. The conference is convened by Prof. Sourabh Sharma and Prof. Ranjit Roy Ghatak of IMI-Bhubaneswar.
