Industrial Revolution in Odisha: Odisha’s industrial growth received a major boost today as Chief Minister Mohan Majhi laid the foundation stone for 27 new industries across 12 districts at a program organized by the Industries Department at the OUAT Convention Center. The projects, which represent a total investment of over ₹25,000 crore, are expected to generate employment for more than 52,000 youth, the Chief Minister announced.

Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi highlighted the growing confidence of investors in Odisha’s industrial ecosystem. “Whenever investment comes into Odisha, it strengthens the confidence of the industrial world in our state,” he said. “Our government’s policies and dedication to setting up industries are drawing investors toward high-value production, helping Odisha move up the manufacturing value chain and compete globally.”

The Chief Minister also reflected on the state’s industrial progress in the last 15 months, stating that 260 industrial projects have been approved during this period, bringing investments of ₹5.6 lakh crore and creating 3.6 lakh employment opportunities. Furthermore, 84 industrial projects have had their foundation stones laid, resulting in ₹2 lakh crore in investments and 1.64 lakh jobs.

To further encourage industrial development, CM Majhi assured industrialists that “special incentives are being provided to every sector with appropriate policies,” and bureaucratic hurdles are being removed. “We are always ready to extend a helping hand to industrialists in their journey and resolve any challenges they face,” he added.

The Chief Minister also called upon industrialists and entrepreneurs to support the ‘Ek Peed Ma Ki Naam 2.0’ campaign by planting saplings in their areas to ensure that development and environmental conservation go hand in hand. As part of celebrations marking the 75th birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, Odisha aims to plant 75 lakh trees, with the Chief Minister urging industrialists to actively participate.

During the event, CM Majhi also promoted newly established industrialists and virtually laid the foundation stones of industrial projects in Ganjam, Khordha, Jharsuguda, Koraput, and Angul.

Industries Minister Sampada Chandra Swain praised the efficient governance and industry-friendly environment fostered by the state government, stating that these factors have propelled Odisha’s industrial growth. He also credited the Chief Minister’s trust and leadership for driving overall economic progress.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja encouraged stakeholders, saying, “Every person with will and determination will achieve success. The Chief Minister’s constant efforts to transform ideas into reality are propelling Odisha’s industrial sector forward.”

The program was attended by Development Commissioner Anu Garg, prominent industrialist Mane Manchasin, Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, and Commissioner and Secretary of Skill Development Bhupendra Singh Punia, who delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks respectively.
