NEXT Enters India: NEXT, UK’s iconic fashion brand, today announced the official launch of its Exclusive Brand Store (EBO) in India in association with Myntra Jabong India Pvt. Ltd. (MJIPL), the B2B wholesale entity of Myntra and its franchisee partners.
As part of the strategic association with NEXT, MJIPL has the licensed rights to distribute the brand’s range of products and the brand’s rights to its licensed franchisee partners for opening and operating stores, while holistically scaling NEXT’s omni-channel presence in India.
Founded in 1982, NEXT is acclaimed for its mastery of classic contemporary styles and sophistication in tandem with outstanding design, unmatched quality, and true value. With over 460 UK stores, 265 international franchise outlets and an online presence in 80 countries across the globe, NEXT has scaled to be the UK’s biggest fashion retailer with a focus on offering beautifully designed, high-quality products which are responsibly sourced and accessibly priced.
The official launch of the first store in the country, ahead of the festive season, marks a significant milestone in NEXT’s India journey. The first store in India, located in Pune, spans an impressive 7,100 sq. ft. and embodies NEXT’s hallmark British elegance and modernity, bringing Indian shoppers closer to its globally celebrated fashion. The layouts of the NEXT stores, globally, are designed to guide customers through different product categories strategically displayed with a focus on creating an inviting shopping environment. In line with this design philosophy, the store located at Pavilion Mall, one of Pune’s most vibrant retail hubs, provides the brand’s shopping experience in its true sense, promising the latest in-season fashion across men, women and kids categories.
In addition to Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs), NEXT will also expand its presence through shop-in-shop formats at multi-brand retail stores such as Shoppers Stop, one of the biggest large-format retailers in India, which already has 10 shop-in-shops live, widening accessibility for shoppers beyond standalone locations. In the next five to six years, NEXT aims to expand to over 50 points of sale (EBOs and shop-in-shop formats) across India, in association with MJIPL’s licensed franchisee partners with key Indian cities, including Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, in the pipeline.
Speaking on the launch of the first brand store in India, Venu Nair, Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Omni-channel, Myntra, said, “Our strategic collaboration with NEXT provides Indian consumers with access to the brand’s globally acclaimed collections. Renowned for unparalleled designs and quality, across women’s, men’s and children’s wear, the brand has been instrumental in addressing consumer gaps within the fashion market across various categories. Specifically in children’s wear, the premium children’s fashion market is currently underserved, offering limited options for fashion-conscious parents.”
He added, “We are proud to join hands with Shoppers Stop, a pioneer in premium departmental stores in India. Their strong legacy, deep consumer connections, and expansive footprint make them our trusted partner in bringing NEXT’s globally celebrated collections closer to Indian shoppers.”
“The opening of our first NEXT store in Pune is a pivotal moment in our partnership with Myntra,” a spokesperson for NEXT said. “We are incredibly excited to bring the NEXT retail experience to our Indian customers, offering them direct access to our latest collections.”
India is a key strategic market for NEXT globally. The rapidly expanding consumer base, with a high and fast-growing appetite for international fashion and strong retail infrastructure, makes India central to the brand’s international growth strategy. Since its launch on the Myntra platform in 2023, NEXT has witnessed strong demand and continuous growth. This is a testament to India’s premium customer base’s adoption of the brand. The launch of India’s first NEXT brand store is a milestone moment in creating a distinctive offline fashion experience, complementing the brand’s online presence and building NEXT as a trusted destination for Indian shoppers.
