Odisha clears 10 new investment proposals, employment for 3545 persons

Bhubaneswar:  In another definite step towards creation of new employment and additional livelihood avenues through industrialization, State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting held on digital mode under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today.

Accorded in principle approval to ten investment projects envisaging investment of around Rs.2005.89 cr, and direct employment potential for 3545 persons. Besides, the projects would create a number of indirect earning opportunities for the people in their respective areas of location.

Presenting financial and technical details of the investment proposals, Principal Secretary Industry Sri Hemant Kumar Sharma said that most of the projects were employment intensive in the sectors like pharmaceutical, food processing, tourism and infrastructure.

Giving in principle approval to the projects, Chief Secretary Sri Mahapatra directed IPICOL to set timelines for construction and commissioning of the projects. He also directed to closely monitor compliance to the timelines by the concerned project proponents. The investors were also asked to employ more persons ‘skilled in Odisha’.
