Odisha Teachers Job: 482 Post Graduate Teachers today joined Non-Government Aided Higher Secondary Schools of the state. This is the first batch of PGT teachers to join such schools. An induction programme was organized at state convention centre in Lok Seva Bhawan for the purpose in presence of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik.

Addressing the new teachers, the CM called upon the teachers to keep themselves updated on the latest academic skills and use IT as a tool to make teaching more interesting. He said that their in-depth knowledge and expertise in different subjects will transform the classroom ecosystem and influence the learning of students in a positive way.

He expected all the teachers to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, play a significant role in transformation of the state, and make it Future Ready. Congratulating the teachers and their family members on the occasion, he said that education determines our future. It provides the foundational support for developing a better society. The quality of education is one of the indicators of individual and social development. Therefore, he said that his government gives top priority to education.

Under the 5T initiative, he continued, the Higher Secondary Schools have undergone significant transformation in terms of infrastructure, and use of IT tools for enhancing learning experience. As many as 110 High Schools have been upgraded to Higher Secondary level and have started functioning this year alone, he informed.

He emphasized that Higher Secondary level is a crucial stepping stone for a student’s career leading to the path of technical and professional education. He urged upon the teachers to dedicate themselves for grooming the students in the best possible way.

Speaking on the occasion, School & Mass education Minister Shri Sudam Marndi congratulated the newly recruited teachers and said that from the current recruitment almost 50 percent of them are women. This is an indication of growing status of women and their empowerment in the state, he underlined.

Two new teachers, Rashmi Mishra and Ipsita Behera, sharing their experiences, said that the 5T initiative has transformed the system. It is because of this the entire recruitment process was completed only in 4 months.  School & Mass Education Secretary Aswathi S delivered the welcome address and Higher Secondary Director proposed the vote of thanks.
