Bhubaneswar: The 2-day State Level Workshop-cum-Sensitization Programme for the field officers of Handicrafts Sector organized by Directorate of Handicrafts under Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department has been closed today in the premises of Odisha Crafts Museum, Kalabhoomi, Bhubaneswar.
At the outset the ORSAC team made a hands-on training on currently undertaken survey of handicraft artisans through Mobile App and Website developed by them and guided the District Level officers on management of Artisan database after completion of Survey. Detailed discussion was made on Infrastructure Development and Skill Development at the District Level and the District Level Officers were advised to submit Action Plan for next 3 years. Subsequently, briefing was made on preparation of detailed project report for successful implementation.
Besides, emphasis was given for infrastructure development after detailed discussion on successful implementation of OMBADC, OBDA & schemes of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
ShriShantmanu, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India graced the closing ceremony as Chief Guest and opined that Odisha Handicrafts is of highly appreciated standard and well accepted worldwide. He also advised to put emphasis on Packaging & Branding of handicraft products.
Sri SrikantPrusty, Special Secretary, HT&H Department while giving key note address emphasized on the role of handicrafts officers for development of Odisha Handicrafts.
Sri SanatanNayak, Director of Handicrafts introduced the Guests and presented the Welcome Address. Sri BikramadityaBarik, Additional Secretary, HT&H Department offered vote of thanks.
Sri SudhanshuRanjanPradhan, Joint Director (Handicrafts), Sri Sisir Kumar Rath, Member Secretary, SIDAC, Sri Santos Kumar Mohanty, Assistant Director (Handicrafts) were also present in the occasion.
Sri Managobinda Jena, Assistant Director (Handicrafts) coordinated the proceedings of the event.
