Pain Free Odisha: Odisha’s first and leading brand of Interventional Pain clinic brings to the people of Orissa a super-specialty treatment modality that deals with the management of difficult chronic painful disease states including treatment of cancer pain non-surgically on day care basis. It aims to cure and care for people suffering from other common kinds of pain like back pain, neck pain, knee pain, etc; make them productive human beings for the society and increase their self-esteem so that they can live life as normal individuals.
When much needed comprehensive pain clinics are available throughout the country, this is the first comprehensive multidisciplinary pain clinic in Bhubaneswar started in 2010.Besides helping the people coming out of their pain it is also trying to create awareness amongst the doctors and people of Orissa about this treatment modality.
Going ahead with the same endeavour one more step towards making a pain free society is making qualified pain specialists who will work in the field of pain & decrease the pain burden of the society. So we have started with different course curriculum to train doctors & allied science people from different field to impart knowledge regarding pain & let them practice different pain procedures.
So we started with “ProPainTA”
A professional Pain Training Academy for training of senior doctors. In Pipeline we will be starting Essential Pain Medicine courses for MBBS Doctors , Nursing students & Physiotherapist too to strengthen the grass-root level, as said by the Director of Pain Free Odisha Prof Dr Shovan Kumar Rath. Dr Rath is working for last 14 years in the field of pain management & has established a new milestone to train doctors from the state, national & international level. Dr Debasish Jena has joined him in this endeavour to train the doctors. This course is unique in itself to train practicing Pain specialists more efficiently & increase the quality of Pain management services in state as well as outside. Doctors from different part of the country will come every month to get trained by him at Health Village Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
The first session was done from 26th to 28th April 2024. The inauguration ceremony was attended by many qualified doctors of the state. Along with Dr Shovan Kumar Rath, Chief Guest, Dr Braja Kishore Dash, Aditional DMET, Guest of Honour, Prof Dr Nibedita Pani, HOD,Dept of Anaesthesia PGIMER & CAPITAL HOSPITAL, Prof Dr Ritesh Roy, Clinical Director & HOD anaesthesia, Care Hospital, Prof Dr Amrit Pattojoshi, HOD, Dept of Pasychiaty, Hitech Medical College.
