Pisci Culture Training: Technology dissemination and optimum utilization of skill development will help increase fish production in the State, said Sri Gokulananda Mallick, Minister, Fisheries & ARD, MSME. Sri Mallick, while inaugurating 4 days training programme for WSHDS on Biofloc and Pisci-culture Practices in GP Tanks at Kausalyaganga here.
Addressing the women trainees Sri Mallick said that they should be encouraged to adopt scientific pisci-culture practices to enhance fish production in the State in order to have improvement in socio-economic conditions of the women in the State. He also emphasized on women empowerment through more participation in economic activities and resource generation. Minister also suggested to take up additional avocations of animal resource development, horticulture and MSME etc. for women.

Minister Sri Mallick also visited Government Fish Seed Farm there and was impressed upon the comprehensive development plan as well as holistic development plan of the State’s mega hatchery for development of fish farming community.

He was also briefed on the artificial breeding and spawn production practices within the hatchery complex. Expressing pleasure on being informed about record production of around 38 Crore spawn during the current financial year and breeding of approximately 31 varieties of ornamental fishes there, Minister suggested for augmentation of State Fishermen Cooperative Federation.
Debananda Bhanja, Additional Director of Fisheries (Technical), Jagadish Chandra Panda, Dy. Director of Fisheries (Training), S.S Singh Dy Director FISHCOPFED and senior officers were present during the visit.
