Reliance Intelligence: Speaking on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the 49th AGM of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Chairman Mukesh Ambani said “I firmly believe that India should not be a mere consumer of AI created elsewhere. It must become a creator, adopter, and global leader in AI.”
Reliance Intelligence announced as Reliance’s newest growth engine with the objective to build a profitable AI infrastructure, platform, and services business serving consumers, enterprises, and governments at scale. Reliance Intelligence promises AI to everyone, everywhere and we shall deliver on this promise too, he added.
Reliance Intelligence is building India’s sovereign AI backbone in Jamnagar, powered entirely by clean energy from Reliance’s own solar generation from the Kutch renewable platform. First 120 MW to be commissioned by end of 2026, with capacity equivalent to more than 75,000 H100 GPUs on an AI-inference basis. At full 120 MW, capacity scales to over 2 lakh H100-equivalent GPUs – placing Reliance among the largest AI infrastructure platforms being built anywhere in the world.

Partnerships with Google, Meta, and NVIDIA form the foundation of Reliance Intelligence’s global technology alliances. Google partnership has deepened into a truly AI-first collaboration. For hundreds of millions of Jio users, Google AI Pro, powered by Gemini, is already accessible free of cost. Joint venture with Meta to operationalise the LLaMA open-source AI for Indian enterprises, with sovereign hosting within India, full model transparency and portability – allowing every enterprise to own its AI journey.
The company is building trusted, affordable, and multilingual AI services in 22 Indian languages.

“Unlike global AI platforms that build in English and translate later, Jio is building AI natively in Indian languages,” said Akash Ambani. A farmer querying in Marathi or a student in Tamil gets an AI that thinks and replies in their language. He further added that “Bharat ka AI Bhartiya Bhasha mei bolega. Bharat ke dilon ko jodega. Bharat ki tasveer aur takdeer badlega.
What we are building is AI for India. AI by India. AI that will one day serve the world.”
Describing AI as a Value Creation Engine, Mukesh Ambani said “AI is becoming a multi-trillion-dollar business globally. Reliance Intelligence will lead this business in India. The infrastructure is being built at breakneck speed and will fully operationalise over the next couple of years. Reliance Intelligence, for India’s self-reliant and accelerated prosperity, will be “as transformative and consequential as our New Energy business.”
