New Delhi: For promotion of installation of solar power plants in domestic/residential sector, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is implementing Rooftop Solar Programme Phase II and providing financial support to individual households for installation of rooftop solar (RTS) plant.
For individual households, CFA upto 40% of the benchmark cost is provided for RTS plants upto 3 kW capacity and 20% for RTS plants capacity beyond 3 kW and up to 10 kW. For Group Housing Societies/ Residential Welfare Associations (GHS/RWA), CFA is limited to 20% of the benchmark cost for RTS plants of capacity up to 500 kW used for supply of power to common facilities.
Under Rooftop Solar Programme Ph-II, no direct central financial support is provided to other categories of consumers, however, incentives are being provided to DISCOMs towards achievement in the installation of rooftop solar (RTS) plants in all sectors, including Government aided and private institutions.
The incentive of 5% of the benchmark cost is provided for RTS capacity addition in a year beyond 10% and up to 15% of the baseline RTS capacity as on 31st March of the previous year, and incentives of 10% of the benchmark cost is provided for RTS capacity addition in a year beyond 15% of the baseline RTS capacity as on 31st March of the previous year.
