Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: The Sleeper Vande Bharat Express dazzled during its trial run between Khajuraho and Mahoba, clocking an impressive 130 km/h on Monday, showcasing India’s progress in modern rail innovation.
This sleek 16-coach marvel is undergoing a 15-day trial on the low-traffic Khajuraho-Jhansi line, ensuring its readiness for operational challenges. The initial tests at moderate speeds aimed to identify technical issues, with the train now racing ahead at higher speeds.
On Sunday, the train achieved 115 km/h, completing the 63-km journey from Khajuraho to Mahoba in just 35 minutes—a significant improvement compared to the usual 80-85 minutes taken by other trains.
Equipped with pneumatic airbrakes, a cutting-edge feature in Indian Railways, the Sleeper Vande Bharat ensures exceptional safety and reduces derailment risks. In emergencies, the train can halt within 350 meters, a remarkable feat compared to traditional vacuum brake systems.
While the train’s route is yet to be finalized, its trials reflect India’s ambition for faster, safer, and more comfortable rail travel.
