Vedanta Controversy: Vedanta Lanjigarh Company’s red mud pond collapsed incident is gathering controversy. Congress MLA of Bhawanipatana, Sagar Das has demanded a judicial inquiry into why this is happening repeatedly in Vedanta Company. He has written a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi regarding this.
In this letter, he made four demands to the Chief Minister. First of all, the matter should be investigated by a Judicial committee. Because it is suspected to be a conspiracy to harass the local residents. Likewise, the victims should be given immediate maximum compensation.
Along with this, he mentioned that the damage done due to red water should be restored. On the other hand, he wrote that such incidents are believed to be happening due to the arrogancy of the Vedanta authorities. So let’s investigate why this red mud pond collapsed and reveal which officials are responsible for it. Along with this, he mentioned in the letter that strict action should be taken against them and also the company.
