BHUBANESWAR: Eminent Koshali poet Padma Shri Haladhar Nag’s poems have found a place of pride in “A Poem A Day”, an anthology complied and translated by renowned poet and filmmaker Gulzar.
The aptly titles classic collection features 365 poems in 34 Indian languages penned by 279 poets across the country.
The first two poems of the anthology – Pancha Amruta and Chithi Deunchhen Re Haladhar – are by Haladhar Nag.
“Dear Haladhar, you are like sunrise of my book”, Gulzar has mentioned in the book.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his joy over inclusion of Haladhar Nag in the prestigious publication.
“Thank you #Gulzar Saab for including #Odisha’s legendary poet Haldhar Nag’s poems in your translated poetry collection, ‘A Poem A Day’. It is a fitting tribute to the immensely talented Koshali language poet and his lifelong work to promote the language,” the Chief Minister Tweeted.
