SRINAGAR: Kashmir will host a six-day Tulip Festival commencing on April 3 to celebrate the arrival of spring season.
Being hosted by the Department of Tourism, the festival aims at promotion of Kashmir’s rich culture, tradition and tourism.
The festival will be inaugurated by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
The hosts have planned a number of attractive activities that include dance and music shows. Artistes from national level asd well as the local talents would be features, the officials informed.
A number of stalls will be set up to display craft, cuisine and culture off the valley, they mentioned.
A live exhibition of handicraft and handloom products will also be held.
The tourism department will also host Houseboat Festival in May.
“Houseboat is an icon of tourism and is one of the main attractions of the visitors to the valley. The festival will showcase the houseboats at the famous Dal Lake and promote them”, the officials said.
