Modi’s Three Nation Tour: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark today on a significant three-nation tour covering the Republic of Cyprus, Canada, and the Republic of Croatia. The visit aims to bolster bilateral ties and promote India\’s global agenda on trade, security, and anti-terrorism cooperation.

Visit to Cyprus (June 15–16)

The first leg of the tour will take the Prime Minister to the Republic of Cyprus, at the invitation of President H.E. Nikos Christodoulides. Describing Cyprus as a close friend and an important partner in the Mediterranean and the European Union, PM Modi highlighted the visit as an opportunity to strengthen historical bonds and explore enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, security, technology, and people-to-people ties.

Participation in G7 Summit in Canada

Following the Cyprus visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Kananaskis, Canada, to participate in the G7 Summit, at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister H.E. Mark Carney. During the summit, PM Modi is expected to share India’s perspectives on pressing global issues and advocate for the priorities of the Global South. He will also engage with world leaders from various partner countries on the sidelines of the summit.

Historic Visit to Croatia

On June 18, the Prime Minister will visit the Republic of Croatia and hold meetings with President Zoran Milanović and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia and is anticipated to open new avenues for bilateral cooperation in key sectors. The two nations share centuries-old cultural ties, and the visit will aim to deepen this historical connection.

Global Anti-Terrorism Cooperation

PM Modi emphasized that the tour also presents an opportunity to express gratitude to partner nations for their consistent support in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism. He underscored the importance of fostering global consensus on combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The three-nation tour is expected to strengthen India’s international partnerships and reinforce its commitment to global peace, development, and security.
