7 new cases take Rajasthan’s Covid-19 total to 50

Jaipur, March 27 (IANS) A total of seven new Covid-19 positive cases were registered in Rajasthan on Friday taking the state’s tally to 50, health officials said.

Four fresh cases were reported in the state on Friday evening out of which two were from Dungarpur, while one was reported each from Jaipur and Churu, Additional Chief Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh.

Earlier, in the morning, three new cases were registered out of which two were from Bhilwara and one was from Jodhpur.

Two new positive cases reported from Dungarpur district included a 48-year man and his 14-year-old son. The duo were living in Indore and reached Dungarpur on Wednesday after which they were screened the next day and were admitted to the district hospital, said Singh.

In Churu, a 60-year-old woman has been found positive for the coronavirus in the first case in the town, while the other persons from Jaipur is a 47-year-old man, who was a close friend of the person already found positive earlier from Ramganj in Jaipur, Singh added.

Bhilwara till date has largest number of positive cases at 21, followed by Jaipur which has 10 positive cases, Jodhpur now has six, Pali, Sikar and Churu has one each positive case, said officials. Pratapgarh and Dungarpur have two cases each.
