Amit Shah in Tripura: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹668 crore in Dhalai, Tripura. - Resettlement of the Bru Reang Community:
- Shri Shah highlighted the historic efforts to resettle 40,000 members of the Bru Reang community who had lived in dire conditions for over two decades.
- ₹900 crore has been allocated to establish 11 villages with access to electricity, roads, clean drinking water, schools, healthcare centers, and anganwadis.
- The Modi government provided housing plots, built homes, and extended financial support of ₹5000 per family for 24 months.
- Bru Reang individuals have been included in voter rolls and provided with ration and health cards.
- Improved Basic Amenities and Infrastructure:
- Access to drinking water has increased from 2.5% to 85% of households.
- Free ration distribution now benefits 82% of the population, and healthcare coverage up to ₹5 lakh per family reaches 80% of residents.
- School enrollment rates in Tripura rose from 67% to 99.5%, while dropout rates have plummeted below 3%.
- Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI):
- Foundation stone laid for the CDTI in Agartala to enhance security and policing in the Northeast.
- Funded with ₹120 crore, the institute will train over 6,000 personnel annually, focusing on counter-terrorism, border management, drug trafficking, and other security challenges.
- Equipped with advanced facilities like simulation labs, IT data centers, and academic research units, the institute will also promote international cooperation on cross-border issues.

Shri Shah noted that peace has returned to Tripura under the Modi government, ending decades of violence. Agreements with rebel groups and the Bru Reang community have paved the way for progress. Additionally, the construction of the grand Maa Tripura Sundari temple will further enhance the state’s cultural and spiritual appeal.
