Bhubaneswar: The 35th & 36th Annual Art Exhibition of B. K. College of Art & Crafts, Bhubaneswar inaugurated today at the Kalinga Art Gallery in the museum building campus, here at Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar. The College is functioning under the administrative control of Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Government of Odisha since 1984.
Sri Aswini Kumar Patra Minister, Tourism, Odia Language, Literature, Culture and Excise, Government of Odisha attending as the Chief Guest of the occasion and inaugurating the exhibition delighted to announce that “this visual art college is one of the prominent institutions in the eastern region of India. The students of this noble institution have brought name & fame worldwide. I wish the bright future of these participating students on this occasion”.
Chief Speaker Sri Ranjan Kumar Das, Director-cum-Additional Secretary to Government of Odia Language, Literature, Culture Department said that “the important role of beautifying our Smart City Bhubaneswar by the students of this college is praiseworthy. I wish the participating students all success in life and keep continue their commitment in protesting and promoting art & culture of our State.”
Sri Das added. Additional Secretary to Government, OLLC department Smt. Manaswini Sahoo joined the event as Guest of Honour and said that all the participant are creative people and are the heartbeats of Odisha. We really feel proud for their efforts and outcomes in a very distinguished way.
The Principal of B. K. College of Art & Crafts Sri Gajendra Kumar Padhi congratulated the participants for their wonderful visual vibration in narrative aesthetics. There are 225 paintings and 35 sculptures displayed and the awards like Principal’s Trophy and Memorial Awards were given to the outstanding students for their wonderful performance in their respective departments. This show is a combination of two academic years due to COVID restrictions imposed in the last year. So the exhibition is a mixed display of art works of year 2021 and 2022. A souvenir of this college was also released on the occasion.
