Boat Pulling Regatta: INS Chilka hosted a thrilling Boat Pulling Regatta for Agniveer 01/24 Batch. The competition aimed to instill a spirit of adventure, enhance watermanship skills, develop mental and physical strength.

Total 12 teams, consisting of eight trainee divisions and four teams from Ship’s Company competed for the prestigious Regatta trophy, traditionally called ‘The Cock’. The race took place in the scenic waters of Chilka Lake, with teams navigating traditional 27-foot-long ‘DK Whalers’. Each Whaler was manned by a crew of pullers (rowers) and one coxswain (helm).

The Boat Pulling Regatta remains one of the most prestigious and traditional sporting activities in the Indian Navy. It highlights the mariners’ and naval tradition of teamwork and synergy. The team from Angre Division emerged as the overall champions. All station personnel cheered enthusiastically as Commodore NP Pradeep VSM, Commanding Officer awarded ‘The Cock’ and trophies to the winning team and the Runner up teams.
